MSTP Lunches

Lunches introducing students to biomedical science departments
Weekly lunches introduce students to the work of the various biomedical science departments. Students of all levels enjoy the exposure to short talks by faculty members across all the basic science departments, but first- and second-year MD students find these talks especially helpful as they explore the various options open to them for their thesis research.

Each department hosts the lunch for a week, sometimes two. Typically two or three faculty members make short remarks about their work. Ample time is left for questions.

Special topic lunches
Five lunch meetings are devoted to talks of general interest. These meetings will deal with such topics as ethical issues, student advising information, and research of particular interest.

General business lunches
Once a month the weekly lunch is devoted to general program affairs.

Summer pizza lunches
Summer lunches are stricly social. Students have pizza and soft drinks on the MSTP patio and have relaxed time to catch up on what's happening with friends and colleagues.
